Clear bra, stone guard, stone shield, chip tape, paint film, PPF, clear mask, these are all terms we hear widely used to describe paint protection film. There are many products on the market that may have similar attributes. The paint protection films we use are an 8mil “clear coated” film. Technically any barrier you put between the environment and your vehicle can be called a paint protectant but there are many and great differences between our product and the many others. 3M manufactures a variety of films with only one meant as an automotive paint protection film. You can have clear vinyl installed on your vehicle at a fraction of the cost but will be lucky to get even a fraction of the protection for the weeks the product lasts.
